The relationship between the rich and the poor is a complex and often contentious one. For example, the Israelites were commanded to leave a portion of their harvest for the poor (Leviticus 19:9-10),and they were forbidden from charging interest on loans to the poor (Exodus 22:25). In the New Testament, Jesus himself spoke out against the evils of wealth and greed, and he called on his followers to care for the poor and needy (Matthew 19:21-24).

In this book, we will explore the biblical ethical principles that should guide our attitudes and actions toward the rich and the poor. The Bible calls us to care for the poor and needy. It says that we should give to the poor (Matthew 25:35-40),and that we should defend the rights of the poor (Proverbs 31:8-9). The Bible also calls us to challenge the injustices and inequalities that exist in our world. It says that we should work to create a more just and equitable society (Micah 6:8).
